PNGC Power Hires Development Expert Economic development added to company capabilities
Portland, Oregon - 05/28/2003 - PNGC Power, a Portland-based wholesale electric power cooperative, has hired Larry Walsh as Regional Economic and Community Development Manager. In this role, Walsh is involved in activities that encourage and support a business climate conducive to business growth and job creation in the communities of member cooperatives.

"Clearly, electric cooperatives can be an effective catalyst in the economic and community development process. With the addition of the development function PNGC Power will be better positioned to help our members by creating new growth opportunities within their service territories," said Patrick Reiten PNGC Power president and CEO.

Walsh is former president of the Oregon Development Group, Salem, Oregon. He is currently a participant on a number of state and national economic development committees focusing on rural issues, including the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association's community and economic development committee. Walsh is past president of the National Economic Developers Association. A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, he holds a Bachelor's degree in marketing and economics.
