PNGC Power Board of Directors Elects Officers, Committee Chairs New officers commit to one-year terms while some committee leadership turns
Portland, Oregon - 10/09/2007 - The PNGC Power Board of Directors has elected new officers for the 2008 fiscal year. They are: Chairman of the Board, Rick Crinklaw (General Manager, Lane Electric Cooperative, Eugene, Oregon), Vice Chairman, Steve Eldrige (General Manager and CEO, Umatilla Electric Cooperative, Hermiston, Oregon) and Secretary/Treasurer, Jon Shelby (General Manager, Northern Lights, Inc. Sagle, Idaho). Terms are for one year, and began October 1.

PNGC Power, based in Portland, is an electric power services cooperative owned by 15 Northwest electric distribution cooperative utilities with service territory in seven western states. PNGC Power provides power supply management to the member-owned utilities. The Board of Directors has 15 members, nominated by each of their respective local boards of directors.

"The Board of PNGC Power provides significant direction to this $167 million (in annual revenues) power services cooperative, serving combined electricity loads for more than 162,000 retail residential and commercial accounts throughout the Northwest," said John Prescott, PNGC Power President and CEO. "As a group, this board is hard working. It’s made up of power industry professionals; this is a knowledgeable and active board."

PNGC Power Board of Directors’ four committees (elected positions each requiring a one-year term of office) also announced leadership for the new fiscal year. The Risk Management Committee Chair is Jon Shelby (General Manager, Northern Lights, Inc. Sagle, Idaho). Heber Carpenter (General Manager, Raft River Rural Electric Cooperative, Malta, Idaho) is the Audit Committee Chair. Al Gonzalez (Board Representative, Central Electric Cooperative, Redmond, Oregon) is Rates and Finance Committee Chair. And Ken Dizes (General Manager, Salmon River Electric Cooperative Challis, Idaho) is Transmission Committee Chair.

The next meeting of the PNGC Power Board of Directors will be November 6.
